Deli Boy, 906 Atlantic Ave., Baldwin: "Dennis the Menace" a chicken breast, pepperoni, and melted provolone sandwich and a "Frank  Sinatra panini of roast beef, sauteed onions, and melted provolone are among their star-packed sandwich menu.

In a Facebook review, Vinnie Fernicola posted, "It’s a pleasure going there They help us respect full. It's just a great place. Delicious sandwiches."

Roast Sandwich House 100 Main St., Mineola: Their sandwiches on artisan bread are of beef, chicken breast, turkey breast, and pork loin, meats roasted in-house.

Phoenix Green on their Facebook page says, "I had the pleasure of eating one of the most delicious sandwiches in the world. Everyone working here is kind through the chaos as dozen of happy customer fill their bellies with delicious food."

Salpino Italian Food Market & Catering,  3457 Merrick Road, Wantagh: They sell cold cuts, meats, imported cheeses, homemade salads, and prepared foods and Italian delicacies. A large deli makes sandwiches. Their menu includes Italian classic of meatball or chicken parmigiana, and tuna melt and lots of other choices, 30 in all. There's a location in North Bellmore.

Lynne P. of Wantagh mentioned food and sandwiches in a review of a catered order.

"My guests all raved about how delicious everything was, especially the chicken marsala, steak teriyaki on a stick, penne ala vodka, chicken fingers, and the heroes."

Iavarone Bros., 1538 Union Turnpike, New Hyde Park: This is a European-style gourmet market with another Nassau County location, that one in Wantagh. Their deli makes classic and specialty heroes including "grandpa's favorite" the "Nonno Pasquale" of broccoli rabe topped with parma prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella. Their "Monte Cristo is turkey breast, mozzarella, and roasted red peppers.

Jessica N. of Long Island City in a Yelp post said, "I cant deny my love for Iavarone's heroes! I love the presentation, I love the quality of meats & cheeses and love the ease of ordering." 

Lisa's Deli, 112 Woodbury Road, Hicksville: They have heroes and wraps, including Italian classics of meatball, sausage and peppers, eggplant and chicken cutlet.

John B., of Kings Park on Yelp says, "As far as delis go this one is fantastic! It's incredibly clean. ou can eat off the floors. It's also the most generous portions. My sandwich was huge. The people are super friendly as well. I highly recommend Lisa's Deli!"
